Drawing from personal experience and comprising as part one of an unexpected three part series, this piece is an interpretation of the recent devastation impacting the community of Jasper, Alberta. While the Three Sisters are unique to Canmore, Alberta, the muted colour palette and contrast between light and dark attempt to reflect the muted beauty of a landscape post wildfire. The hints of gold throughout provide a subtle warmth that bring a touch of life to an otherwise subdued scene, reflective of natures ability to regenerate what was once destroyed.
50% of proceeds will be donated to relief efforts for Jasper, AB.

As a 15-year resident of Fort McMurray, the 2016 Horse River Wildfire left an indelible mark on my life. Eight years later, this piece captures what I see as the definitive Fort McMurray landscape—the stark, barren trees standing in contrast to the vibrant greenery, symbolizing the journey from loss to regeneration.
As the second piece in a three-part series, it invites reflection on overcoming adversity. As I prepare to leave Fort McMurray, this landscape serves as more than just a memory; it’s a testament to the strength and perseverance of this community. It aims to convey a sense of calm, reminding us that even the worst days can lead to new life and growth. The resilience of nature mirrors that of the community—healing over time, yet always carrying the marks of the past.

Two emotions often intertwined, yet representing profoundly different forms of connection. One, often impulsive and fleeting; the other, layered and enduring. Though the line between them is often blurred, both are integral to the human experience, shaping how we connect with ourselves and others.
Much like the emotions themselves, these two pieces explore a shared yet distinct journey. The pink hues serve as a unifying thread, while the interplay of light and dark reflects the tension and harmony between lust and love—visually and conceptually tying them together in a dynamic contrast.
